Review : Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S. Thirst Quenching Serum

This is a serum to be worn after your toner and before your moisturiser. It has a white runny texture and very quickly absorbed. Upon application, you can feel your skin being hydrated and it almost lasts the entire day. This serum is such a joy to use, I can't think of anybody who won't profit from this product.  Packed with organic grape water and hyaluronic acid, especially people with sensitive skin and/or dehydrated skin will surely profit even more than the others. Not to mention this hydrating serum is suitable for all skin types.

Review : Ren Clarifying Toning Lotion

I wanted to give this toner a try because I liked this brand and it’s half price of Clarins’ Gentle Exfoliator.

Nowadays I have dry and sensitive skin, a few spots here and there and loads of white little bumps under my skin. So far this toner didn’t irritate my skin and the ingredients are impressive. However, a month into using this toner but I didn’t see much of a difference. It didn’t help my spots to dry faster, not much of a difference on my old or new spot scars and the bumps are still there.

I see this acid toner to be suitable for very sensitive skin which can’t handle heavy duty acid toners that have glycolic and salicylic acids. However, if you are looking for a more exfoliating effect in order to help with the scarring, I am afraid this product won’t cut it for you.

Review : 100% Raw Virgin Coconut Oil as Make-up Remover

If you are into skincare, you probably know that if you wear sunscreen and/or make up during the day you must double cleanse at night. First cleansing for getting rid of make up and other gunk sitting on your face, second cleansing for really deep cleansing your skin. If you want to know more about this you must read this cheat sheet of skincare goddess Caroline Hirons.

As I ran out of my balm cleanser and feel very lazy to make my own, I’ve been experimenting with organic raw coconut oil. I need to say I am quite impressed with this, it hasn’t broken me out, lovely coconut smell on my nose and incredibly inexpensive. I take a bit of oil on my fingertips, rub them together to give the oil the chance to melt and apply it directly on my dry face and keep massaging until every bit of make up melts on my face. I don’t use a separate eye make up remover because coconut oil melts my waterproof eye shadows and lines like a dream. Then I take my flannel/towel, make it soak some warm water and squeeze most of the water out and clean coconut oil off of my face with this lukewarm towel. Be careful though, I made the mistake of letting towel get too warm and I ended up getting broken capillaries on my face.

I am very pleased with the results as it left my skin feeling very clean yet moisturised but I don’t think just coconut oil gives me all the benefit of cleansing with a cleansing balm. However this is a great option if you are on a tight budget.

Review : Bergman Ultra Light Peptide Moisturiser

Just like the name suggests, this is a very light, quickly absorbed moisturiser that would suit most of the skin types without causing irritation. I think this one would suit those who look for a basic moisturiser summer time, I'm afraid it would not cut it if you have more expectations.

Review : Bergman Scar Retreat Scar Serum

I reviewed the Scar Cream over here, this is a review of the serum.

So as I said before Bergman is a renown Dutch luxury skincare brand, the type that very could break your wallet.

Bergman's most famous products are belonging to Scar Retreat series that consists of 15ml Scar Cream and 15ml of Scar Serum. They're designed to treat wounds after cosmetic surgeries since at Bergman Clinics they perform almost every type of cosmetic surgery. They say if you use both of these combined right after you have a wound (any type of wound really) you won't have any scars.

The serum lasted me almost a month and a half when I used it twice a day, good proof of 'a little goes a looong way' and I did see a difference after a week or so, my skin was softer, more even toned, meaning, I didn't see any miracles, but hey, maybe I had no actual accident or surgery scars to experiment on.

Next time I want to give a try to Bergman Microdermabrasion Serum since I bought 4 bottles to my lovely family friend who swears by it.

Having used both the serum and the cream for my post acne pigmentation and redness like scars, I could very easily say that the cream delivers results much faster than the serum. You're supposed to apply the cream only to the areas where you have problems and it lasted me more or less a month. Every single time I slapped it on, even though my pigmentation is still there, I've noticed a difference the next day. Actually, even my cousin noticed the difference in one of our skype conversations.

This will help you accelerate the healing process of your problems and would definitely improve you skin's condition.

Review : Neutrogena Visibly Even Daily Moisturizer SPF 30

Hello, I'll be reviewing  Neutrogena's Visibly Even Daily Moisturizer SPF 30. In general I really like Neutrogena but unfortunately, here, in the Netherlands and probably in the rest of Europe we can't really get anything else than generic products like hand moisturisers, basic cleansers and spot treatments for spots, so I decided to splurge an awesome amount of 20 Euros for this baby (e-bay of course), ermmm, it costs less than 14$ in the US. Not cool Europe, not cool. (did you pay attention to the title of this blog?)

It's a great daily basic moisturizer if you have combination to oily skin and normal skin if you're not looking for a basic level moisturizer with a good SPF in it. It's not likely to cause breakouts if you'll apply it a few times throughout the day. I noticed that the level of SPF goes down drastically if you won't finish it after you open it.

Will it even out your skin tone? Nope, sista, it won't. Sigh.
Are there better basic moisturisers with high SPF? Absolutely.
